Goat is known as poor man’s cow in India goat farming keeps very important position in livestock farming system. Marginal or undulating lands are suitable for goats. Goat Farming can be made in very low investment and maintenance, it can be a profitable venture for small and large inverters.

 

Special Goat Breeds of Jharkhand Agro Goat Farm

 

Jharkhand Agro Goat farm specialized in producing and selling high quality kids. We have good pure breeding stocks and can supply large number of goat kids as per demand. Goats provided by us are completely tested and selected by veterinary doctors for quality and disease. They have good milking capacity, reproductive and health performance.

Jamnapari

The name is associated with the river Yamuna. One of the largest Goat breeds in India. They are suitable for both milk and meat purposes. Weight of  male is about 70-90Kg and female about 50-60 Kg. Male(KHASSI) are having very beautiful look and farmers are growing this breed specially for Bakraeid (Eid-ul-azha) because on this festival each KHASSI costs around 55,000 to 70,000/-  INR or more.

Sirohi:

 They are from Rajasthan. They are medium sized goats and can survive in extreme climatic conditions. They are mainly produced for meat and milk production and also for Bakraeid.

Malabari or Telicherry :

They are mainly used for Milk purpose. It is Kerala's native breed. They are low in size but the meat is very tasty. They have high disease resistance so it can be farmed any part on India easily.

Beetal:

They are good in reproduction and can be produced for meat as well for milk. Weight of Male is about 55-60 kg and female about 45-55 kg.

Black Bangal

This breed is also suitable for Bengal, Odessa, Bihar and Jharkhand, Weight of male is about 18-20 Kg and female is near about 15-18 Kg. This type of breed is mainly produced for meat, female gives birth three times in two years and in one delivery they give 3-4 kids, and this type of breed is very good in reproduction.

Barbari

They are from Pakistan weight of Male is about 35-40 female about 25-30 they are good in reproduction and milking capacity. This breed is also suitable for Bengal, Odessa, Bihar and Jharkhand, This type of breed is mainly produced for meat and reproduction.

Boer

They are imported from South Africa. This breed is mainly used for Meat purpose. They have excellent growth rate. It is one of the popular goats reared for meat purpose. They are suitable for high scale commercial farming for meat purpose.

Some Spacial Breed

Marwari, Cutchi, Mehsana, Jhakrana, Karoli, Chigu, Osmanabadi, Surti etc..,

  These are the main Native breeds of Goats reared in India. The speciality of these breeds are their excellent disease resistance and adaptation ability to Indian conditions.
